I saw this picture on the LA Times’ website. That small, blurry (but bright) blue dot is the planet we live on — as seen from Saturn. Yeah, that’s what Earth looks like from 900 million miles away. From the far end of our solar system (where the gas giant planets live), our planet looks pretty insignificant…just another dot in the landscape. Sometimes it’s difficult to see that in the vast scheme of things, with the enormity of not only our solar system, but also the universe, something like this matters to a good chunk of our planet.
